About the Robinson Library
Robinson Elementary School is one of five elementary schools in the Manhattan Beach Unified School District. We are located at 80 Morningside Drive, Manhattan Beach, California. The school is a closed campus; if you are visiting the library, please be sure to check in at the front office first.
The library is part of the Robinson Learning Center, which also includes the computer lab, currently taught by Mrs. Felt. Each class visits both the library and the computer lab once a week for 30 to 45 minutes. During the library’s open hours students (accompanied by a parent or guardian) are welcome to visit the library (unless there is a class in session).
Library Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 8am to 3pm; Wednesday, 8am to 12pm.
The library’s collection includes over 15,000 books, reference materials, videotapes, and art prints. The number of books a student may check out depends on his/her grade: Kindergarten and first grade can check out one book; second grade, two books; third grade, three books; fourth grade, four books; and fifth grade, five books. Parents may come in and request a library patron number to check out up to 10 books at one time. Books are due back in one week but can be renewed if the book is not on the Hold list. There are no overdue fines but lost/damaged books must be replaced.
The library is staffed by one part-time library media specialist, Yukari Matsuyama. Trained volunteers assist in the library during class visits. You can contact Ms. Yukari by email or by calling (310) 318-5120 ext. 4211.
The library is generously supported by funding from the Manhattan Beach Education Foundation, the Robinson PTSA, the Manhattan Beach Rotary Club, and the Manhattan Beach Historical Society.
